The 1991 Glyndebourne Festival poster by Oliver Messel.
Originally designed by Messel for the 1956 Glyndebourne programme cover, the image was re-used in 1991 to celebrate Mozart’s bicentenary.
Once the world’s most famous and sought-after designer, Messel designed six Glyndebourne programme covers, including the very first one in 1952. Whilst working at Glyndebourne, he would design over ten stage productions, including Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro and Il barbiere di Siviglia.
